OnlyFans update: DRM video protection

May 08, 2023

In case you haven’t already heard, OnlyFans has had a recent update and it appears that they’re finally starting to do something towards giving our content that extra protection (it’s about time!).

What is DRM and what does this mean for us as creators?

DRM stands for ‘Digital Rights Management’ and it aims to protect the copyright holder's rights (the Creator) and prevents our content from unauthorized distribution and modification. Not too much changes as we’re already protected by the intellectual property rights act by default but this does just add that extra layer of protection for us as creators.

Be aware that some customers who are using older devices may not be able to see your content (older versions of IPhones, androids, laptops etc).

Nevertheless,I recommend that you turn this setting on. This can be done by

SETTINGS > PRIVACY AND SECURITY > SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM AND TURN IT ON.

If you come across a subscriber who has purchased extra content and they are unable to view due to using an old device, you can recommend them using a more up-to-date device or you can turn the setting off and resend although you will lose the extra protection.

Also, a little reminder that the course is always updated so you are always getting correct and up to date information.
