How I monetised on a 'problem' subscriber
Nov 02, 2022
So it happened! I got one of those “problem subscribers”. I’m sure you know the type, we all come across them. Those that feel they should be gifted your longest, kinkiest video just because they subscribed to your page while you had a 50% discount running. Well, that’s exactly who I got subscribing today and I’m going to tell you how I dealt with him.
He joined me using a discount that I had set up on my page and straight away he was in my DM’s telling me how hard his cock is over my page and asked me for my video list. I sent him my video list (although this is in my auto welcome message if he would have just looked - say less) and I bet you can guess his reply; the dreaded “I think you should send me one of those as a treat for subscribing”. STFU.
Now although I was screaming internally at him, I didn’t let on and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. My customer service head was on tight and I was ready to bag myself a sale. I replied “Cheeky ;) There are various ways you can grab yourself a treat from me by interacting with my page. Which video do you want to see the most? I might be able to give you a discount because I’m feeling extra horny and generous today”. Like they do, he had another shot at getting his video of choice for free but I was firm with my boundaries and made it clear that today was not the day for a treat video, and tomorrow isn't looking good either, Nicely, of course. I then sent him the video - with a little bit of a discount.
Not so long after this, I got the notification that he has purchased my video! Happy days. Granted he didn’t pay full price but I didn’t scare away the sale by being like “no you cheap piece of shit, pay for it”. I made a positive first impression and I have left it open to make more potential sales from him, in the future.
Oh, and did I mention his rebill is still on? ;) I think we’re both happy.
Moral of the story - set your boundaries, make them clear but be nice about it. You don’t want to let subscribers take advantage or overstep your boundaries but you also don’t want to scare them away.
I understand it doesn't always go this way, I've had my fair share of the opposite outcome, but you'll always lose 100% of the sales you don't try to make.
Like the saying goes, kill them with kindness.
